MSC expands safety solution portfolio with new personal fall protection equipment from PRO-SAFE®

June 24, 2014

Vendor NewsMSC Industrial Supply Co. has expanded its high-performance, high-value personal protective equipment offering with a comprehensive new line of fall protection equipment from PRO-SAFE. This new range includes full body harnesses, connecting devices and anchorage connectors – everything industrial-based companies need to protect their workers and prevent fall-related accidents.

With nearly 100 personal fall protection products to choose from, MSC’s PRO-SAFE solutions allow customers to purchase the most appropriate fall restraint or fall arrest system for their unique requirements. Each product provides the same high level of safety and durability users can trust, while a range of options provide users with comfort and convenience for their specific needs. These products are made and tested at an ISO 9001-certified facility in the United States, and each one meets or exceeds ANSI and all other industry standards.

Bruno Cunha, PRO-SAFE safety manager, said planning ahead for job site safety is critical to managing a productive environment that keeps employee safety at the heart of the operation. He noted falls are a primary cause of injury, death and worker’s compensation claims in industrial settings. And, according to OSHA, fall protection ranked the number one cited worksite violation for fiscal year 2013. Proper fall protection equipment plays a vital role in ensuring the safety of workers in a wide variety of industries, including aerospace, wind power, utilities and construction, among others.

Mr. Cunha also mentioned that when workers are in a rush or need to perform a quick task, they often forgo the use of fall protection, which can be catastrophic. A 2012 OSHA study of worker fatalities in the private industry sector shows falls as being the leading cause of death on construction sites.

“We design our fall protection products to be as lightweight, unrestrictive and quick to set up as possible,” said Cunha. “This helps encourage workers to take safety precautions at all times, which, in turn, gives their employers added peace of mind.”

All of MSC’s PRO-SAFE personal fall protection products are available for purchase at www.mscdirect.com/prosafe, with complete service and support at 877-776-7231.
