Flame-resistant garments designed exclusively for women are the newest extension of the TECGEN® FR line

New lightweight, breathable and moisture-wicking women's flame-resistant uniform shirt and coverall are available in extra small to plus sizes

September 18, 2014

TECGEN products for womenINVISTA's TECGEN® brand, an innovative manufacturer of flame-resistant (FR) fabric and garments, introduces a new collection tailored specifically for a woman's build to help eliminate the inconvenience and hazard of wearing poorly fitted FR apparel on the job. The TECGEN® brand now offers solutions to accurately fit women in comfortable, breathable and functional FR apparel that incorporates the conisistency and uniformity of existing FR garments on the market.

"More and more, women are entering industries where FR garments are required, and where a "man's" job has become a woman's job," said Sherryl Stoner, TECGEN® Customer Service Manager of Inside Sales Quality Assurance. "Outfitting women in unisex and male garments can raise safety concerns and often be uncomfortable for workers, which can decrease productivity. It is imperative that FR garment programs move away from oversized, poorly fitting unisex garments and specify garments for women that are designed with their body types in mind, yet still be comfortable, breathable and functional."

The latest collection from the TECGEN® brand features a uniform shirt and coverall that balance the total comfort triangle: lightweight, breathability and moisture management. The collection is available in all size ranges - from extra small to plus.

Uniform Shirt: Weighing only 5.5 oz., the new women's uniform shirt is currently the lightest-weight woven dual-certified (NFPA HRC2 arc flash protection and NFPA 2112-2012 flash fire resistance) women's FR shirt on the market, according to a 2014 market study. Other features include a right over left placket, darts, two pockets sized proportionately, a buttonless spread collar, built-in stays and a contoured cut. Available in navy, light blue, khaki and grey.

Coverall: The new women's coverall features an adjusted sweep to account for women hip sizes, an elastic waist, darts, snapping pockets, snapping pass through pockets and a feminine, functional cut. The inherently flame resistant coverall is certified for NFPA HRC2 arc flash protection and NFPA 2112-2012 flash fire resistance. Availble in khaki, royal blue and grey.
