The American Industrial Hygiene Association’s (AIHA) Fall Conference Planning Committee is now accepting workshop proposals for EHS professionals who can lead 3 ½ hour seminars that combine a presentation with a group discussion.

Two prominent authors are scheduled to speak at Safety 2014, coming up June 8-11 in Orlando, Florida. Charles Duhigg, a Pulitzer prize winning business reporter at The New York Times (business section), will speak at the Opening General Session on Monday, June 9. Duhigg is the author of "The Power of Habit: Why We Do What We Do in Life and Business," about the science of habit formation among individuals, companies & societies.

It’s not too early to start marking your calendar and gathering information about the professional conferences you plan on attending in 2014. Here’s a sampling of the occupational safety and health-related conventions scheduled for this year.

The NHCASF is a tax-exempt organization (501c3) that provides scholarship awards to graduate, post-doctoral and residency students who focus on applied/practical studies in hearing loss prevention at regionally accredited institutions/agencies.

Schedule includes: ANSI Meeting, CAOHC Training, Scholarship Foundation Golf Tournament, workshops, Meet & Greet (Reserved for new members, students, first time attendees, Executive Council), Exhibitor's Reception & "Meet the Authors" Poster Presentations and more.

With over 63,000 visitors, the recent staging of A+A 2013, International Trade Fair with Congress for Safety, Security and Health at Work, in Düsseldorf, Germany closed with a new increase in visitor participation (2011: 60,100) as well as a further rise in interest from international visitors.

Next week’s iSHN Virtual Safety Expo, a free online EHS convention, will be chock full of exhibits, presentations from industry experts and networking opportunities. Here are a few tips to help you maximize your experience:

One of the biggest EHS events of the year takes place next Tuesday, Nov. 12, but none of the attendees have made airline reservations or booked hotels. With a five percent increase in attendance, this year’s National Safety Council NSC Congress & Expo had the highest attendance yet.
