Youngstown Glove Company announces the release of the FR Emergency Gas Glove in conjunction with the ICUEE (International Construction and Utility Equipment Exposition) taking place in Louisville, KY September 28 – October 1st.

This first-of-its-kind glove is designed specifically for gas utility workers who are faced with emergency ‘live leak’ work environments. While these workers are outfitted in extra-protective FR suits they are most often not provided equally-protective hand protection.

The FR Emergency Gas Glove will change this. The glove is Anti-Static, Heat-Resistant, Flame-Resistant, Cut-Resistant, High-Visibility and is engineered to fit over the sleeves of the FR suits. The glove maintains a lightweight feel and superior dexterity while resisting shrinkage when exposed to flames thanks to the incredibly innovative materials made with DuPont™ Nomex® and Kevlar® brand fibers by DuPont.

The glove surpassed industry standards for flame-resistance according to ASTM D6413 and posted very impressive results according to the more comprehensive EN 407 test that measures heat and flame resistance. It achieved an EN 407 rating of 4-2-4-3-4-1, and is also approved in electrical operations for PPE Category 3, achieving and Arc Rating of 28 cal/cm² according to ASTM F2675/F2675M-13.
