3M Personal Safety Division highlights diverse portfolio of PPE health and safety solutions at 2016 NSC (booth #1404)

Learn about 3M’s latest innovations for worker health and safety equipment

October 12, 2016

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required on the job to help keep workers safe, healthy, and productive. 3M strives to deliver comfortable well-designed PPE that workers can feel good about wearing.

3M’s Personal Safety Division will showcase products from across its broad portfolio of PPE equipment that ranges from eye protection to fall protection at the 2016 National Safety Council Expo Oct. 17 to Oct. 19 in booth #1404.

“As a leader in the industry, 3M has been designing and supplying PPE for decades,” says Shawn Gregg, US Personal Safety Division Business Director. “Thanks to our dedicated scientists and health and safety professionals from various industries that include construction, mining, oil and gas, we have a deep understanding of what employers want to help keep their workers safe, comfortable and productive on the job. We’re invested on a corporate and personal level to help employers make sure every worker returns home safely every day.”

Products

3M™ DBI-SALA® Self-Rescue Device

When a worker is suspended after a fall from height, every second matters. To minimize risk to the suspended worker, their coworkers and emergency response personnel, at-height workers need a rescue plan that doesn’t leave them hanging. The Self-Rescue Device (pictured) is a flexible device that attaches to a current safety harness and allows workers to lower themselves to safety in the event of a fall from height. Demonstrations for the Self-Rescue Device and 3M™ DBI-SALA® Fall Protection for Tools will take place at the tower in the booth.

3M™ DBI-SALA® ExoFit™ STRATA™ Full-Body Harness

The ExoFit™ STRATA™ Full-Body Harness is designed and tested with data-driven, research supported by ergonomic specialists at Northwestern Health Sciences University. The result is a harness that is more comfortable and lighter to wear. The first-of-its-kind LIFTech™ Load Distribution System helps take the weight off workers’ shoulders and redistributes it down to their hips, reducing forces on the shoulders. In addition, PolarMesh™ padding improves air flow to help keep workers’ backs cooler.

3M™ Elevated Temperature Hard Hat H-700T Series

The Elevated Temperature Hard Hat H-700T Series features a new design and materials that offer lightweight protection in elevated temperatures. Designed specifically for elevated temperature applications ranging from metalworking and smelting to glass manufacturing, the H-700T Hard Hat is engineered to withstand radiant heat loads up to 375 degrees Fahrenheit, and is the foundation of an integrated system of advanced personal protective equipment for the head and neck.

3M™ Versaflo™ Belt-Mounted PAPR Systems

Versaflo Belt-Mounted Powered Air Purifying Respirator Systems deliver a comfortable approach to respiratory protection for workers. Headgear, breathing tube and air sources in many configurations allow workers to adapt their protection for most work environments.

3M™ Protective Eyewear with Scotchgard™ Anti-fog Coating

A fogged lens can be frustrating and dangerous. Removing eyewear to wipe away fog can expose eyes to potentially dangerous workplace impact hazards and debris. The Scotchgard Anti-Fog Coating resists fogging longer than traditional anti-fog coatings, even after washing multiple times.

3M™ E-A-Rfit™ Dual-Ear Validation System

Pinpointing the hearing protection needs of each individual on a worksite can take time. The E-A-Rfit Dual-Ear Validation System makes it easy to measure every employee’s unique level of protection with a hearing protection fit test for most 3M hearing solutions (ear plugs and ear muffs) that takes less than five seconds of actual test time. The system utilizes science-based, objective, quantitative testing that takes the guesswork out of managing compliance in an organization’s hearing conservation program. E-A-Rfit Dual-Ear Validation System was the 2015 ‘Best in Show’ New Product Showcase winner.

3M™ PELTOR™ WS™ ProTac™ XP Communication Headsets

In noisy environments, workers need hearing protection that helps protect against hazardous noise while offering flexibility and clarity when talking wirelessly. PELTOR™_WS™ ProTac™ XP Headsets are designed to better serve the protective communication needs of our Industrial Customers. These wireless, BlueTooth® compatible headsets offer impressive attenuation in noisy environments as well as the ability to simultaneously connect to a radio sound source via optional connection cable and via wireless BlueTooth® connection. Customers will also enjoy the Environmental microphones for level-dependent hearing protection and ambient listening.

3M™ PELTOR™ ProTac™ Hunter & ProTac™ Shooter Headsets

For hunters or law enforcement, there is a need to protect from loud sudden noises or blasts, but it’s equally important that people can listen normally when noise hazards aren’t present. The PELTOR™ ProTac™ Hunter & ProTac™ Shooter Headset allows wearers to effectively listen and communicate within their surroundings, while also utilizing smart technology to help block out sudden harmful noises.

3M™ PELTOR™ ProTac™ III Headset

In environments where loud or sharp noises are present, workers need hearing protection that helps protect against hazardous noise, but also minimizes over-protection so workers can hear warning signals, alarms, or other sounds in machines and processes. The PELTOR™ ProTac™ III Headset allows workers to do both by monitoring the surrounding environment and when hazardous noises are present, an electronic circuit in the headset limits the speaker volume to 82 dB.

3M™ PELTOR™ WorkTunes™ Pro AM/FM Radio Headset

Listening to music can make everyday tasks feel easier. The new PELTOR™ WorkTunes™ Pro AM/FM Radio Headset helps workers to stay protected and productive while listening to music, audiobooks or podcasts. Designed for rugged work environments, this headset combines professional-grade durability with lightweight comfort for all-day wearability.

3M will also be hosting a customer appreciation event where show attendees will be treated to food and drinks, and music by Eric Berdon, a producer, engineer, songwriter and musician who has worked with Colbie Cailat, Sara Haze, Tanya Tucker, Marc Broussard, Justin Young, American Idol, Dancing with the Stars and more.
