Optel partners with ‘Light for the World’ to help restore vision
Purchase of special-designed panoramaxx welding helmets to help fund 3,000 eye surgeries.
Welders can help bring sight to the blind with the purchase of a limited-edition, specially designed panoramaxx welding helmet from optrel, the leading manufacturer of active eye protection products. Partnering with the global non-profit, Light for the World, optrel will donate the entire purchase price of 200 special-edition panoramaxx welding helmets to fund 3,000 restorative eye surgeries around the world.
“Thankfully, we can prevent and cure blindness at the same time. Each welder who purchases an optrel Light for the World special edition panoramaxx helmet will not only protect his or her eyesight — but help fund restorative surgery for 15 suffers from failing eyesight due to cataracts,” says Marco Koch, owner of optrel.
The panoramaxx is optrel’s premier welding helmet. The special edition panoramaxx offers a 6-times larger field of vision versus standard welding helmets, without adding extra weight. The panorama view – in combination with the 2.5 shade at lightstate and the optrel true color optics – opens an entirely new visual dimension to the welding experience. The panoramaxx features optrel’s patented autopilot function, and the unique 5-sensor array measures the brightness of the welding arc and automatically adjusts to the correct shade level.
Proceeds from the sale of the 200 limited edition panoramaxx welding helmets are being donated to fund 3,000 cataract surgeries. Cataracts, according to Light for the World, are the leading cause of blindness in the world.
