Supplier Profile

Ergodyne & distributors make a tenacious team

May 4, 2012
Tell us a little about the history of your company?

Straight outta good old St. Paul, Minnesota, we have spent the last 29 years designing and developing innovative safety solutions that make the Workplace a Betterplace™ for the folks on the front lines. Our Tenacious Work Gear® manages the elements, enhances productivity and provides protection for workers the world over.

What has been your company’s business strategy to gain market share?

We create solutions to problems and maybe occasionally change the world.

Describe the core branded products of your company that you promote most heavily.

Ergodyne has three product pillars with one purpose: Make The Workplace A Betterplace™. Our products help workers to manage the elements, improve productivity and provide protection. Our current lineup is extensive and constantly growing: ProFlex® Hand Protection, ProFlex® Knee Pads, ProFlex® Supports, Trex™ Footwear Accessories, Chill-Its® Cooling Products, N-Ferno® Warming Products, GloWear® Hi-Vis Apparel, Squids® Lanyards, Arsenal® Equipment Storage Systems, CORE Performance Work Wear® and SHAX® Portable Work Shelters.

How do distributors contribute to your success in the marketplace?

Ergodyne’s tenacious distributors contribute to our success by constantly promoting our products, communicating availability, educating customers and providing a great buying experience. They reach every corner of the world and serve a wide variety of customer segments that increase visibility and access to the Ergodyne brand.

Do you offer your distributors training or other value-added services?

Under the umbrella of Tenacious-U, Ergodyne offers comprehensive distributor training. Mediums include videos, webinars, whitepapers and on-site training at distributor locations. The curriculum is as specific or comprehensive as the distributor wants or needs for the occasion and opportunity. In 2013, we will also be offering in-depth training and education classes at Ergodyne’s Intergalactic Headquarters.

What business characteristics do you look for when selecting to work with a distributor?

• Reputation for integrity

• High level of brand appreciation

• Geographic location(s)

• Financial stability

• Customer segments served

• Responsiveness

• Marketing-centric

Do you have any recent news about new facilities or new personnel to report?

Recent additions to our crackerjack staff include: Kristi Erickson (product specialist, supporting the Protection Pillar), Nate Bohmbach (product manager, supporting the Productivity Pillar), Bret Snyder (Inventory & Production Control Specialist) and Chelsie Regan (Digital Graphics Specialist).

Describe your current financial picture. 3-5 year sales revenue trendline?

The sales trend for Ergodyne has been solidly up for the last 3-5 years.

What should distributors know about your company’s future, in terms of short- and long-range plans?

Ergodyne is committed to generating disproportionately positive results for both users and sellers of our products. We accomplish this through our obsession with delivering excellence in all that we do and our partnership with our great distributors. We will continue to look for a massive amount of new products, a high level of innovation and technology and exceed the industry standard for customer service and sales support.
