ESFI offers anti-counterfeiting webinar series

First webinar will highlight recent trends, legal response

Educational ResourcesThe Electrical Safety Foundation International (ESFI) will host a free webinar on Wednesday, October 29th from 11:00 – 11:45 a.m. EST titled “Counterfeiting: Understanding Your Risk and Liability.” The informational webinar will delve into recent trends in counterfeiting electrical products as well as the legal responses aimed at addressing the issue.  Citing specific court cases and seizures, panelists will describe the ongoing fight against counterfeit goods and the new technologies, practices, and collaborations that are helping to thwart these dangerous products. 

The live event will kick off ESFI’s “Zero Tolerance for Counterfeits” webinar series that that will feature industry experts discussing various topics related to counterfeit electrical products.  Each webinar will be broadcasted live and the public is encouraged to submit questions to the speaker panel before and during the event.

Speakers participating in the first webinar include:

DeeJay Smith - Brand Protection Group Manager, Proctor and Gamble – North America, Latin America, Asia, who will discuss recent trends and evolving threats to the legitimate supply channel

Clark Silcox – General Counsel, National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA),who will review recent cases involving counterfeit products and discuss legal trends in accountability for counterfeits

The discussion will be moderated by Brett Brenner, ESFI President.
