What you need to know about the electronic data submission deadline

OSHA has announced that it will continue accepting 2016 OSHA Form 300A data through the Injury Tracking Application (ITA) until midnight on December 31, 2017. The agency says it will not take enforcement action against those employers who submit their reports after the December 15, 2017, deadline but before December 31, 2017, final entry date.

One last time: OSHA extends recordkeeping reporting deadline

After multiple delays, OSHA has finally announced that employers who are required to keep OSHA injury and illness records must send summary information in to the agency by December 15, fifteen days after the deadline announced last June, when the agency proposed to delay the reporting deadline from July 1 to December 1.

OSHA has announced that Aug. 1, 2017, will be the start date for employers to electronically submit required injury and illness data from their completed 2016 OSHA Form 300A. They’ll do so through the Injury Tracking Application (ITA), a web-based form that will be accessible from the ITA webpage.

Dems move to restore 5-year recordkeeping rule

Democratic lawmakers yesterday rolled out a bill that would overturn Congress’ overturn of a provision of OSHA’s recordkeeping rule.

The Accurate Workplace Injury and Illness Records Restoration Act, introduced by Democratic Reps. Mark Takano (Calif.), Joe Courtney (Conn.) and Bobby Scott (Va.), along with Sens. Patty Murray (Wash.) and Richard Blumenthal (Conn.), would restore the requirement that employers record and keep records on injuries and illnesses for five years.
