Nearly one in five workplace injuries were caused by slips, trips and falls, according to the most recent data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Ergodyne has further addressed this hazard today by introducing the TREX 6300TC One-Piece Tungsten Carbide Ice Traction Device with tungsten carbide studs on the bottom for sharper grip and enhanced traction and stability.

“Ice traction devices are a simple, cost-effective way to prevent slips, trips and falls,” said Alsie Nelson, product manager at Ergodyne. “We created the 6300TC because tungsten carbide offers even sharper grip and longer wear for those needed a more durable option.”

The bottom of the 6300TC is studded with eight studs made from one of the strongest, most durable compounds known to man – tungsten carbide. In fact, the only substance harder on the Mohs scale is diamond. Not only do tungsten carbide studs wear up to 100 times longer than steel, but our spikes are 40% thinner than our carbon steel spikes, allowing for better penetration and sharper grip on ice and snow.

Plus, this lightweight piece can be transported over hill and dale, and its stretchable rubber frame TPE sling fits easily over boots or shoes. Replacement studs for the TREX 6301TC are also sold separately.

“The advances in footwear technology have only improved workplace safety,” said Tom Votel, president & CEO, Ergodyne. “Sourcing better materials is one way we’re able to consistently optimize our safety solutions.”
