Workrite Uniform Company releases new chemical-splash protective lab coat

New Workrite CP lab coat offers comfortable protection against inadvertent chemical splash

Workrite
January 30, 2018

Workrite Uniform Company, a manufacturer of flame-resistant (FR) and chemical-splash protective (CP) clothing, is releasing a cutting-edge, first-of-its-kind lab coat designed to provide comfortable, affordable protection against inadvertent chemical splash. The new Workrite CP lab coat will be on display and available for pre-order at Workrite Uniform’s booth — number 1365 — at Pittcon 2018.

Liquids are present in almost every laboratory, and many of them are harmful if they come in contact with the skin. Made with Milliken® ShieldCSR™, a proprietary chemical-splash protective technology, the Workrite CP lab coat provides protection against dangerous acids, oxidizers and polar organic solvents by repelling liquid and resisting penetration and wicking of small amounts of splashed chemicals.

The Workrite CP lab coat also offers a more comfortable and cost-effective alternative to many existing options. Unlike most disposable lab coats and chemical-splash aprons, the CP lab coat is lightweight and breathable, offering greater comfort. Additionally, it offers excellent durability and resists chemical and colorant stains, allowing it to last longer than disposable lab coats as well as many traditional white coats.

“The CP lab coat has the power to make a transformative difference in laboratory safety,” said Mark Saner, Workrite Uniform’s technical manager. “Not only does it offer excellent chemical-splash protection, but it is also comfortable and designed for all-day use, helping increase the likelihood that laboratory personnel will wear it consistently and have the protection they need when they need it.”

Workrite Uniform also manufactures FR/CP lab coats, which combine chemical-splash protection (CP) and flame-resistant (FR) protection in a single garment for enviroments where both hazards are present. For more information about Workrite Uniform’s lab coats, visit http://www.workritefrcp.com.
