Christine O'Brien, senior. public relations specialist for DuPont Safety & Protection, has provided the following details to ISHN on DuPont’s acquisition of Coastal Training Technologies announced this week:
“Coastal CEO Paul Michels and president/COO Phil Price will continue in management positions at Coastal, with Paul Michels reporting to Jim Weigand, vice president and general manager of DuPont Safety Resources. With the acquisition by DuPont, Coastal will become a wholly owned subsidiary of DuPont and part of DuPont Safety Resources, a safety consulting and training business.
“It is anticipated that both organizations will continue to operate essentially as they have been, meeting customer needs and pursuing established goals and growth objectives. At the same time, DuPont and Coastal will look for opportunities to work together in building a unique business model---one that offers a comprehensive, creative and cost-effective portfolio of products and consulting services beyond what either company could offer alone.
“There are no plans to change the Coastal brand name, which is well known and highly respected in its markets worldwide. Coastal will continue operate as it has been. In fact, Coastal's in-house expertise and production capabilities will provide DuPont with a greater mix of delivery systems for its clients worldwide.”
