Record participation at OS+H Asia 2010

December 1, 2010

The nearly 5,000 visitors from 40 nations who flocked to the just-concluded 7th annual OS+H Asia (Occupational Safety and Health Exhibition for Asia) had plenty to peruse; 138 exhibitors from 19 countries showcased a wide variety of technology and innovations for the occupational safety and health sector.

Those exhibitors represent a whopping 22% increase over the 2008 OS+H Asia – a testament, say organizers, to the growing demand for new and better products for the work safety sector in Asia. Since the trade show’s launch in 1998, visitor attendance has grown by 15%, with this year’s the highest turnout yet.

Gernot Ringling, Managing Director of Messe Düsseldorf Asia (the organizer of OS+H Asia), commented: “We are pleased with the remarkable results and are optimistic that OS+H Asia will grow even larger in size and importance in Asia. We are grateful for the strong support and excellent cooperation among all our international as well as local partners and exhibiting companies. We will continue to work with the industry to make OS+H Asia a simply must attend event in Asia.”

The Singapore WSH Conference 2010 (organized by the Singapore’s Workplace Safety and Health Council and the Ministry of Manpower) and the Forum on Safety & Health (jointly organized by the Singapore Institution of Safety Officers and Messe Düsseldorf Asia) complemented the OS+H Asia 2010 exhibits.

Exhibitor reactions

“OS+H Asia 2010 was once again a success for our company. We were able to launch new products on the market and are very satisfied with the quality of visitors at our booth. We had tremendous interest in our products. There were numerous serious buying prospects and enquiries. We will definitely continue to exhibit at OS+H Asia in 2012 as it is a great opportunity for us to get in touch with our existing customers and to get new business contacts.” James Wong, Market Segment Manager, Kimberly-Clark Trading (M) Sdn Bhd.

“I am very pleased and have gotten a lot of positive feedback from my visitors. I am satisfied with the quantity and internationality of the visitors and saw a number of overseas visitors from countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and other ASEAN countries. We received some very good enquiries and are certain that these will lead to actual business. I am very confident that the participation at OS+H Asia 2010 was a positive investment and of great advantage for QSS Safety Products. We will definitely be back in 2012.” Willard Chong, Senior Marketing Manager, QSS Safety Products (S) Pte Ltd

“We are very happy with the number and quality of visitors at our booth. Our main objective in exhibiting at OS+H Asia 2010 was to inform our existing customers as well as potential new clients that we are here to support them with our specialized product ranges. We also used the exhibition to launch new products in Southeast Asia and to create awareness in the region.” Eric Chin, Technical and Training Manager, Scott Health & Safety.

“The participation is one of our marketing strategies to create awareness for our products in Southeast Asia and to launch brand new safety shoes from Europe in Asia. OS+H Asia was a great success for our company as we received a lot of interests in our products. We saw a number of distributors and also many visitors from the ASEAN countries, such as Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Vietnam. We look forward to exhibiting again at OS+H Asia 2012.” SJ Jako, Area Manager, Cortina China Limited (first time exhibitor)

“The cross-over of visitors from MEDICAL FAIR ASIA 2010 proved to be a success for our company as we also received interest in our products from this visitor group. We are indeed very satisfied with our participation at OS+H Asia 2010.” David Single, Product Manager, JLG Industries (Australia).

OS+H Asia is scheduled to return to Singapore in September 2012.
